Visa on Arrival Process

Upon landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport, if you need a Visa on Arrival, follow these steps:

1. Follow the Signs:

• After disembarking, follow the signs leading to "Immigration" or "Arrivals."
• Look out for specific signs marked “Visa on Arrival” and “E-Visa on Arrival.”

2. Location:

• The Visa on Arrival section is about 100 meters past the main Immigration area.

3. Prepare Your Documents:

• To speed up the process, have all necessary documents ready before you arrive at the airport.

Required Documents for Visa on Arrival

When applying for a Visa on Arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport, you will need the following documents:

1. Visa on Arrival Application Form:

• Obtain this form at the airport or download and print it in advance.

2. Passport:

• Must have a minimum validity of 30 days.
• Issued by one of the countries eligible for Thailand's Visa on Arrival.

3. Return or Onward Ticket:

• You must present a return ticket or a ticket for onward travel within 15 days.

4. Proof of Accommodation:

• Provide a printed hotel booking voucher or address in Thailand.

6. Visa on Arrival Fee:

• The fee is 2,000 THB, payable in cash and in Thai currency only.

7. Proof of Sufficient Funds:

• Evidence of at least 10,000 THB per person or 20,000 THB per family.

Applying for Visa on Arrival

1. Find the Visa on Arrival Desk:

• Near the entrance of the Visa on Arrival section, there is a document check desk where you can collect the application form if you haven't done so already

2. Submit Your Documents:

• Submit your completed application form along with all the required documents to the staff at the desk.

3. Proceed to the Counters:

• The Visa on Arrival system has two lines: one for standard applications and another for E-Visa on Arrival users.

4. Receive Your Visa:

• Once your documents are processed, you'll receive a laminated number card.
• Wait in the designated area until your number is called to collect your passport with the Visa on Arrival inside.

5. Final Immigration Check:

• Head to the Immigration counters, present your travel documents, get your passport stamped, and enter Thailand.

E-Visa on Arrival

Thailand also offers an E-Visa on Arrival (E-VoA) service, which allows travellers to apply online before arriving. This option is available at Suvarnabhumi and three other international airports, aiming to streamline the entry process.

Temporary Visa on Arrival Removal

Thailand has temporarily waived the Visa on Arrival requirement for certain countries during specific periods. Here are the current exemptions:

• China: Visa on Arrival is not required from September 25, 2023, to February 29, 2024.
• Kazakhstan: Visa-free entry extended until August 31, 2024.
• India: Visa-free entry from November 10, 2023, to May 10, 2024, extended until November 11, 2024.
• Taiwan: Visa-free entry from November 10, 2023, to May 10, 2024, extended until November 11, 2024.
